ROTARY SCHOLAR PHILIP POSTEK

District 5450 is thrilled to be able to announce our Rotary Scholar, Philip Postek. Philip is a neuroscience graduate of Boston College and a Master of Biomedical Sciences candidate at Tufts University School of Medicine. Originally from Denver, Colorado, he is currently a Fulbright researcher at the University of Lodz Medical Center in Poland, where he studies genetic predisposition and clinical risk factors in children with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

His prior experience includes working as an emergency department technician at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Boston Children’s Hospital during his undergraduate years. In addition, he conducted research as a graduate student in the Beggs Laboratory at Harvard Medical School, focusing on rare congenital muscular diseases, including SELENON-related myopathies.

Philip is grateful for the opportunity to continue his education at the Barcelona Institute for Global Health, where he will pursue a Master’s in Global Health as a recipient of a Rotary Global Grant Scholarship before returning to the United States to attend medical school.

Outside of his academic and professional pursuits, Philip enjoys spending time outdoors. When back home in Denver, he can often be found climbing 14ers, running the Cherry Creek trail, or watching the Colorado Avalanche beat the Dallas Stars. He is proud to be a Colorado native and hopes his future career will allow him to return to and serve the community he loves most.
