ROTARY ACTION GROUP FOR MENTAL HEALTH INITIATIVE UPDATE

Rotary is a place where kindness spills over. Providing buckets to capture this overflow and channel it to where it’s most needed is Rotary International. It’s in that spirit that we are pleased to announce that District 5450’s application for chapter membership in the Rotary Action Group for Mental Health Initiative has been accepted. The mission statement for this group is to “…break stigma, raise awareness, and increase capacity for treatment and prevention” providing a path to well-being. Serving as the initial Chair of our chapter is the Rotary Club of Conifer’s Yvonne Lipson.
In the spirit of former RI President Gordon McInally’s question, “how are you, really?” this group will support the behavioral health initiatives of our local clubs, communicate innovative programs and best practices, and incentivize Colorado Rotarians to ask this question of both members and non-members alike. If you have an interest in joining this group or if you would like one of our charter members to speak to your club, please contact: Secretary David Willman at dwillman66@icloud.com

"My most sincere thanks and congratulations to previous R4MH Co-Chairs and to individual District 5450 Rotarians who share my passion for investment in mental health wellness and advocacy! I am thrilled to see District 5450’s acceptance as a chapter member of the Rotary Action Group for Mental Health Initiatives and I applaud your efforts. I encourage all Rotarians and clubs interested in this area of focus to reach out for more information on ways you can become more involved. Cheers to making the world a kinder, more understanding and better place, one person at a time.”
