Join the Youth Exchange Committee

Are you ready to play a vital role in shaping life-changing exchange experiences for students across the globe? The Rocky Mountain Rotary Youth Exchange (RMRYE) program is looking for passionate and organized individuals to join our committee as Country Contacts (particularly Austria, Finland, Germany and Taiwan) and support the incredible work of Rotary Youth Exchange.

What Does a Country Contact Do?

For Inbound Students:

• Facilitate Connections: Work with your assigned countries to ensure a successful exchange each year.
• Manage Applications: Receive student applications, share initial documents with our placement coordinator, and coordinate local club placements.
• Support Student Success: Ensure all necessary paperwork is completed, including the guarantee form, host family information, and background checks.
• Ongoing Communication: Maintain monthly contact with the student and host family, and ensure the local club communicates with the student.
• Organize Logistics: Know your student’s arrival date, oversee proper travel paperwork, and attend major inbound student events such as the fall orientation and optional winter district conference.
• Documentation: Complete arrival reports, address changes, and state department compliance, including providing YEOs with necessary letters.
• Support Academic Needs: Send ELITIS tests to students and share applications with the placement coordinator.

For Outbound Students:

• Attend Interview Weekend: Help place students with host districts abroad.
• Coordinate Applications: Ensure students complete long applications by January 15th and send them to the host district.
• Guarantee Placement: Work with the host district to secure guarantee forms and share them with students.
• Stay Connected: Communicate monthly with students, track departure dates, and attend outbound orientation to prepare them for their journey.
