Announcing Dr. Meha Semwal Smith, Colorado Rotary Endowed Fellow for Pediatric Mental Health at Children’s Hospital Colorado.
It is with our great appreciation, we are excited to announce that on July 1, 2024, Children's Hospital Colorado hired the first of many Colorado Rotary Fellows for Pediatric Mental Health.
As stated by Children's Hospital staff:
"Dr. Meha Semwal Smith is a first-year child and adolescent psychiatry fellow. She did her medical school at CU School of Medicine, then went to residency at UCLA, and we were so thrilled to welcome her back to Colorado this last year. She is a kind soul, an inquisitive person, has a dedication for the underserved, and is an all-around rockstar clinician. She won a clinical award as well this year, nominated by faculty, and she was the only first-year fellow to win an award. She has a passion for learning about psychotherapy, a strategic need for the fellowship to train more future supervisors to be sustainable in this clinical area."
As you know, because of the Endowment, Dr. Smith is the first of many, many Rotary Fellows.
We are excited to meet her and follow her progress - but what we do know, is that she will make an average of 1500 patient visits a year - for kids and families that otherwise would not have been helped.
Thank you to District 5450 Clubs and individual Rotarians that supported this amazing and impactful effort - it took Rotarians from around the state to make this a reality.
In gratitude,
Co-Chairs, Shrin Murthy, Debby Doig and Tamara Fennell
and the Highlands Ranch Pediatric Mental Health Committee
