Club Qualification
Club Qualification Requirements for District 5450
A District 5450 Club that sponsors or participates in a Global Grant or District Grant must be “qualified” before the grant application can be approved.
1. Grant Qualification Training
- Attendance Requirement: At least one active club member in good standing must attend a grant qualification training for the Rotary year of the grant. There will be at least one Qualified District Grant Writer per club. This person is not necessarily the grant champion but will be the person to enter the application/information for the ClubRunner grant module. Only Qualified Grant Writers will be able to enter grant applications.
- If you DID NOT attend the in-person training, you can still get qualified, if you are an active member in good standing, by watching the videos listed below - a link to the PowerPoint slides shown during the training is also listed. After you have watched the videos, click on the Grants Qualification Online Test link. Your test results will automatically be sent to the District Grants chair to review.
2. Current Grant Reporting
- Global and District Grants: All grant reporting must be current for both Global and District Grants.
3. IRS Form 990 Filing
- Confirmation: The club must confirm its most current filing of IRS Form 990 or its equivalent.
- For clubs using the 990-N or postcard filing, send a copy of the confirmation receipt, including the club name, to office@rotary5450.org.
- For clubs using 990EZ or 990, send a copy of the signature page with the name of a club officer either typed in or signed to office@rotary5450.org.
- Sending confirmation to the district treasurer will meet the requirements of the District and Grant Qualification at the same time. Please ensure that the name of the club is included in the transmittal of the documentation.
4. Required Documentation Submission
Executed Club Qualification District Memorandum of Understanding (MOU):
- The MOU must be signed by the Club President and President-Elect for the year the grant application will be submitted.
- The MOU confirms club oversight of the grant project and agreement to meet all Rotary requirements.
- Send executed copies of the MOU to office@rotary5450.org.
By meeting these requirements, your club will be qualified to sponsor Global and District Grants in District 5450.
