New Changes Coming with the Leads Program
Rotary International is changing its Member Lead process to allow prospective members to choose a club based on their preferences. While not officially launched, the new process will follow this general construct: The new process will follow this general construct:
1- Prospective members will submit information on Rotary.org.
2-Prospective members will choose a club that interests them based on information about the club, such as its location and meeting times.
3- Rotary International will notify the club's president, membership chair, secretary, and executive secretary. They will then contact the prospective member and report on their progress.
4-Rotary clubs can use the Manage Membership Leads page in My Rotary to store information about prospective members. (Clubs can also use the Add Lead button to add candidates to the list if someone in the club refers them).
5-To prepare for this change, make sure your club's website and other contact information are accurate in My Rotary.
Cause-Based Clubs vs. Impact Clubs:
Innovation in Rotary Club Models
Rotary Impact clubs and cause-based clubs are both Rotary club models that focus on service, but they differ in their structure and membership:
Rotary Impact clubs
These clubs are service-only extensions of a Rotary club that focus on community service projects. IMPACT clubs don't have regular meetings, meals, or speakers, and members can attend host club meetings or virtual meetings if offered. This model is good for people who want to get involved in community service but can't attend traditional meetings.
Cause-based clubs
These clubs are made up of members who share a passion for a particular cause and focus their service efforts in that area. Cause-based clubs are good for people who want to connect with others while addressing a specific cause or interest.
Other Rotary club models include:
E-clubs: Meet exclusively online
Passport clubs: Allow members to attend other Rotary club meetings and service projects
Corporate clubs: Members are employed by the same employer
Rotaract clubs: Rotary clubs whose members are aged 18 and above.
