Turning Conflict into Collaboration
 
This is a one-day workshop designed to give anyone the tools to deal with the most difficult communication challenges. Through guided discussions and real-world exercises, participants will learn to:

The workshop will be led by three professionals in the field of conflict resolution and anger management:
  1. Suzanne Ghais, Ph.D., is Programs Director at Convergence Center for Policy Resolution, where she facilitates multi-party consensus building on divisive public-policy issues. She has three decades’ experience in conflict resolution, facilitation, mediation, and consensus building, dealing with a wide range of issue types from consumer and community disputes to workplace conflicts, to civil wars. She is the author of Extreme Facilitation: Guiding Groups through Controversy and Complexity (Jossey Bass/Wiley, 2005) and numerous articles and book chapters.
  1. Randall Butler is a former trial lawyer. From 2002-2010 he served as a co-leader of the ROM Leadership Development & Peace Gathering in Croatia, which brought together over 500 young leaders. From 2007-2013 he designed and facilitated a program involving over 200 Sudanese leaders. He also partnered with Interfaith Ministries of Greater Houston to facilitate two Jewish/Muslim Dialogue groups. In 2011 & 2012 he designed and facilitated two Candidate CafĂ© Dialogues involving 100 citizens and 30 candidates for public office in Houston, TX. He designed and facilitated the Connecting Communities Project which brought together 51 leaders representative of the African-American, Anglo, Asian & Latino communities of Houston to insure an inclusive, equitable, and united multi-ethnic society.  After moving to Boulder, Butler joined the Boulder Rotary Club in 2019 and served as chair of the Peace Building Committee from April 2019 to January 2026.
  1. Jim Halderman has taught court ordered and company ordered clients for 28 years in anger and conflict management. He is certified with National Curriculum Training Institute, the leader in the field of Cognitive Behavioral Change Programs, personality profiles, NLP, and other learning tools. College brought studies in science, music, philosophy, and recently in neuroscience. For five years he taught anger management and life skills in prisons. He has trained extensively in public speaking and communication skills in many venues. He is the author of Wizard Brain or Monkey Mind, Which is in Control?
