What is the Service Resource Chair?

This newly created District role is designed to be exactly what the name suggests — a resource for our Rotary clubs. The goal is not to manage club service activities or add another layer of administration. Instead, the Service Resource Chair is available to provide ideas, guidance, connections and promotional support to help clubs strengthen and expand their service.

  • Do you need help promoting a service project, fundraiser or special event?
  • Would you like Rotarians from other District 5450 clubs to volunteer or participate?
  • Could your club benefit from a fresh look at how you organize service, engage current members or create opportunities that attract prospective members?
  • Are you looking for a new service idea and don't know where to start?

If so, let's talk.  The District wants to help clubs with:

Brainstorming & Consultative Support

A sounding board for Club Presidents, service leaders and Area Governors who want to develop a new project, strengthen an existing one or think through why an activity isn't getting the participation they hoped for.

Promotion & Collaboration

Helping clubs make better use of District resources to promote service projects and events — particularly those seeking volunteers, attendees or participation from Rotarians beyond their own club. Greater visibility can also create opportunities for collaboration among clubs.

Elevating Exceptional Projects

Identifying a small number of outstanding club projects each year that may have the potential to become larger, collaborative District-wide opportunities.

Meeting Clubs Where They Are

Every club is different. Some have highly successful service programs and need very little assistance. Others may be looking for fresh ideas, new community partners or a different approach. This resource is available when it is useful to you.
