On December 27, 2013 our District lost a wonderful Rotarian with the passing of Peter Hughes, past President of the Denver Tech Center Club.  Peter served for many years as the Chair of the District Water Committee and was recognized worldwide as an expert on water and sanitation issues.  Peter will be missed by our District and Rotarians.  Donations can be given to the Denver Tech Center Rotary Club Foundation - www.dtcrotary.org

UPDATE on District 5450 Colorado Flood Relief Project 2013
 
In what has been called a Thousand Year Flood, 21 inches of rain triggered catastrophic flooding in parts of Colorado during the week of September 9, 2013: eight lives lost, 24,000 homes were impacted, 2,000 homes totally destroyed, 20 counties affected, 200 miles of state highways and 50 bridges damaged or destroyed.
